Van driver, Sompong Chaoraharn, 38, is arrested in Ang Thong's Muang district on Thursday night after speeding through police checkpoints along the route. The driver again sped through the checkpoint, continuing on to Bangkok through Muang district. Police said the driver, Sompong Chaoraharn, 38, appeared drunk when he was taken out of the van. Mr Sompong admitted he drank alcohol with friends before being asked by another friend to drive the van to Bangkok. Chatchara Ketsaneeyabut, chief of Chai Nat transport office, called a meeting with a representative of the van operator following the arrest of the drunk driver.
